Opening Meditation

Opening Meditation with Natalie McGreal

We'll kick off the weekend workshops with an opening meditation with Natalie McGreal. Gather as a group, set your intention for the weekend, and sink into the weekend.

Faith and Flow with Rolf Gates

In this asana-based session we will explore and practice how we create the experience of 'sanctuary', the experience of the sacred in our every day lives. The session will include Vinyasa, meditation and lecture/discussion. The yoga will be a synergy of the freedom of a powerful Vinyasa class and the structural integrity of yoga's therapeutic alignment principles.

The intensive is intentionally challenging, but open to all who wish to explore yoga as an evolutionary journey. The only 'requirement' is that you show up, do your best and let your best be good enough.

Sthula Kriyas of Yoga Therapy with Indu Arora

By now, we all know that yoga is beyond asana. We have read it, heard it and most importantly experienced it. Yoga practice is summarized as a combination of sthula (physical) and sukshma (subtle) kriyas. Each of these practices helps us to get closer to the purusha-artha (four noble goals in life). The sthula kriyas are preparatory steps for the deeper practices which are then utilized to awaken the prana shakti. 

These sthula kriyas helps in cleansing the physical body, balancing the dosas, toning the nervous system, cleanings the pranic channels and so much more. In this workshop you shall be introduced to 

  1. What are sthula kriyas
  2. Types of sthula kriyas and their sequence in the practice
  3. Role and signs of Amas (toxins) and detoxification practices in Yoga therapy
  4. Modifications to the practices as per vikruti (imbalances)
  5. Mind as the bridge between Sthula and Sukshma

Heart Centered Gentle Yoga with Natalie McGreal

A meditative & flowing, yet gentle yoga practice complimented with static restorative postures. Class will end with breath work and visualization exercises to inspire deep inner awareness. Gentle yoga and guided meditations offer a wealth of benefits such as increased flexibility, better quality of sleep and stress reduction. In this class we will rest, rejuvenate and revitalize.

Happy Feet with Dr. Tiffany Denny

Each of our feet has 26 bones, 33 joints, and 107 ligaments. The bones in our feet make up around 25% of the bones in our entire body, and our feet are the main way we connect with the earth. The joints and connective tissues in our feet are the first line of force transmission when we walk, run, jump, skip, dance, and practice asana. Feet deserve some love and attention, and that’s exactly what they’ll get in this workshop.

Benefits and Useful Tips for Teaching Mindfulness and Yoga To Children: Tots To Teens with Jessica Rosenberg

It is an age of constant bombardment and busy-ness. Children are as overworked and stressed out as their parents! During challenging, changing times kids need good skills and coping mechanisms to navigate life’s circumstances.

The playful, therapeutic movement and positive psychology of yoga offers children focus, positive thinking, alignment, and insight to their inner workings. In this workshop Jessica will share with you simple, healthy, and engaging ways to offer children opportunities through yoga to release stress and anxiety.

We will discuss the benefits of yoga for children and learn poses, breathing exercises, prop ideas, and relaxation techniques. You will leave with tools in your toolkit to help children stay balanced and calm through yoga.

Aqua Yoga with Elizabeth Persico

Aqua Yoga is a fun and gentle, low impact activity that takes the principles and movements of Yoga and adapts them to the water.  The buoyancy of water takes weight off your joints, making the poses feel effortless. This is a great class for those with arthritis, hip and or knee replacements, multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia, muscular dystrophy, anxiety, depression, pre-natal, post-natal, post-surgery, people with difficulty balancing, sciatica, and beginners as well as people who already have aregular practice.  

Give it a try!  Jump in one or both of the two x 40 minute aqua yoga classes in the heated hotel pool found in the StayFit™ Gym.  Session 1:  12:10 – 12:50   Session 2:  1:00 – 1:40.  We’ll cover the basics - benefits and healing qualities of Aqua Yoga.  Bring a swim suit or wear your fitted yoga clothes, a towel and bottle of water.  We will be in the shallow end of the pool which is 4 feet deep.  Your head will stay above the water.  Toilets are available in the gym to change clothes.

Vinyasa Upaya: Effortless Effort with David Regelin

This a vinyasa class which strings together both classical and modern postural adaptations into a complete practice. The main idea is that many small efforts made on the part of the practitioner to pay attention to seemingly small details, lightens the overall effort required to practice. Students learn to trace the outer form of their postures to build proprioception, extend lines from their body in the direction in which they intend to move improving spacial awareness, visualize the shapes they intend to become in order to foresee how one posture compliments another, and how an advanced understanding of basic postures makes advanced postures feel basic.


Hip + Shoulder Opening = Blissful Backbends with Simon Park

Backbends are a beautiful balance of grounding and rooting while learning to become fluid and receptive. Learn alignment principles, complementary hip + shoulder openers and the energetic keys towards simple and advanced
backbends such as Raja-Kapotasana (King Pigeon), Naturajasana (Cosmic Dancer), Vrichikasana (Scorpion) and drop-backs. A full Vinyasa practice that contains a creative vinyasa krama progression of namaskars, standing poses, core integration, twists and inversions. Backbends without pain can be truly blissful!!

Yoga is the path of transforming poison into power, obstacles into opportunities, and food into nourishment. In this practice we will dive into potent energy of the hips to transform every day life experiences into an opportunity for awakening and revelation.

In a perfect world, our bodies operate like a well-oiled machine - each part moving in their designed way and operating “in-sync” to the other parts around them. In reality, this is far from true. Our daily patterns and routines start to shape and mold the way in which our parts move. Bigger muscles start to take over for some of the smaller muscles and our bodies
slowly become unbalanced. Factor in a repetitive movement like running or jumping, and you start to see the result of muscle imbalances in the form of pain and injury. This session will highlight several common risk factors for pain and injury in sports, with focus mainly on the lower body.

Common muscle imbalances will be discussed as well as ways in which
athletes can incorporate yoga in to their training regimen and how yogi’s
can “tweak” their postures to maximize muscle recruitment. All levels,
moderate intensity. 

Oxygen Cocktail Bar: Breathing Techniques To Feel Light Of Limb with Jes Rosenberg

Our bodies are incredible superhuman machines powered by the breath. Every day we breathe automatically without even thinking. Like eating, inhale’s and exhale’s offer us the power and energy to live. But, when our mind is frenetic and chaotic, the actions of our body follow so that when we are
anxious and in a hurry, we often forget to breathe. This is not good because it is just a downward spiral into negativity-land where there is less oxygenated blood, which makes us even more stressed out!

Join Jessica Rosenberg in an engaging workshop to find out why yogis count
our lives by number of breaths and not by number of years. We will connect
with our breath as we practice simple pranayama exercises, learn the
science behind diaphragmatic breathing, and see how we can use breathing in
our lives off the yoga mat to calm the body and the mind, find center,
create balance, and enhance physical, mental and emotional wellbeing for a
whole lifetime.

Being Still with Skill: Vinyasa + Meditation Session with Rolf Gates

Yoga is the cultivation of inner space and the ability to use it well. In this asana + meditation-based session, we will weave beautifully together the practice of yoga and meditation to enhance the quality of our daily lives. The yoga will be a synergy of the freedom of a powerful Vinyasa class and the structural integrity of yoga's therapeutic alignment principles. This session is appropriate for brand new as well as
experienced meditators.

Sukshma Kriyas of Yoga Therapy with Indu Arora

The fact is that we are way too attached to the physical and therefor the physical practices like asanas and more asanas. Yes I said it twice and you read it right. 

When we are ready to explore the unknown, ready to explore the pathways on which the prana moves then we are ready to dive into Yoga therapy as a means to work on reprogramming, erasing and dealing with samskaras (karmic impressions) and vikalapas (negative thought constructs). All the imbalances does not arise from the physical body and neither they can be dealt by a magical pose, herb or medicine. Some discomforts are present so that we can dive deeper into our psyche. Sukshma Kriyas are practices like Chakras, Pranas, Mantra, Mediation, Mudra, Yoga nidra and many more which allows to re-calibrate our goals, vision and expectations to our inner compass. There brings us to what is called in Ayurveda as Magical divine healing or "divya chikitsa". This is also what is Sadhana Pada of Patanjali Yoga Sutras. 

If you have hit an iron wall in your practice, have experienced that Yoga is more then asanas, felt the need to explore the inner world, drawn towards internal practices then this workshop is perfect fit for you to take a step deeper and understand the realm of sukshma kriyas. This shall help you in understanding that healing comes with responsibility and right action, at times with patience and other times with simple acceptance 

The Joy of Handstands with David Regelin

Improve Your Handstand Technique by learning to:

  • Use the hand as a map of the entire body, meaning you can adjust the placement of the entire body by sensing where the weight falls into the hand.
  • Use your legs! The sign of a complete handstand beginner is usually that the legs are dull and lifeless or flailing. Learning to use the legs well lightens the load on the upper body allowing for a lighter and more versatile handstand.
  • Proper wrist angles for a variety handstands types: people often dive headfirst into handstands and eventually have to back away from them because their wrists give out in one way or another. Develop the range and stability in the wrists with my magic wrist techniques.
  • Shoulder/rib cage placement/differentiation/hip placement/ pelvic tilt/foot articulation: all necessary to learn to lift up to handstand with good form. Let's discuss.
  • Breath and Bandha: suspend your disbelief! Breath brings Bandhas and Bandhas are real! I am 6'3 and 190+ pounds of pure grass fed beef. If I don't engage with these two things I feel tired and exhausted after a handstand. With them I feel like a young Mary Lou Rettin. 

Basics of Internal Yoga: Understanding and working from the midline with Nathan Paulus

The long central axis of the body, referred to as Sushumna Nadi in Yoga, is a powerful channel for connecting the nervous system and integrating the body. In this class we will work with specific awareness of this central axis, learning to externally relax while the body internally activates. This first class will be a set of simple, conditional exercises designed to build awareness in feeling and connecting along this central channel and to create stability. There will be a 20 minute meditation to close the class.

Solar Acrobatic AcroYoga Pure Playshop with Kristi Taylor

All levels, all ages, all people come play, laugh and do things you never thought possible. This workshop provides a safe environment to explore trust, connection and joy.

Kristi will combine elements from yoga and acrobatics, in careful guided partner yoga, to achieve assisted inversions, basic partner acrobatics, strength drills, basic flying, and loads of deep belly laughs. No yoga experience required. No partner needed. Come as you are to be supported...and to support.

Nourishing the Subtle Energy Body with Yin Yoga with Julia Theisen

Sangha means “Safe, Sacred Community” and it begins with the amazing mind, body, spirit community within you.  Yin Yoga is a powerfully healing practice that nourishes your internal sangha at the deepest level - specifically the subtle energy body. Join Julia in this deeply nurturing yoga practice that will loosen the grip of your body at the deepest levels. Yin poses will be held between 3-8 minutes to provide space for the body, mind, spirit to yield, let go, restore and transform. No experience required.
